After 20 years, Odysseus finally returns to Ithaca, where he finds his wife imprisoned by rival suitors for the throne and his son in danger of death at their hands. To reclaim his family and all he has lost, Odysseus must find his strength again. This is the third time Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche have starred together in a film. They have previously worked together in Wuthering Heights (1992) and The English Patient (1996). Penelope: How can men find their way to war but not their way home? Odysseus: For some, war becomes home. The focus of this study was to immerse the viewer in the multifaceted pain and suffering of Penelope and Odysseus after Odysseus returns home to Ithaca. The purpose of this study was to examine in a fairly systematic way the challenges that many soldiers face upon returning from active duty, including PTSD and other mental health issues, reintegration. to his past life with family and society, the flashbacks of memories and pain both endured and inflicted, and the resulting internal transformation that is irreversible. The return is fueled by a brilliant cast that allows the viewer to experience this roller coaster ride of two key characters riding towards remarkable heights, the latter due to the unique and particular resistance of Penelope and Odysseus at this difficult time in their lives. and without mutual support. In fact, the two are kept quite apart for much of the build-up, which only makes the catharsis more powerful in the later, more intense, thriller-like part of an otherwise slower-burning film. Fiennes brings his unique style of portraying suffering to this work, complementing his superb skills from his side-by-side portrayals of pain and anguish in Spider-Man and The End of the Affair. Binoche is the perfect choice for Penelope, as the viewer is somehow tricked into feeling and hoping that the two will meet again in the same way they were close during The English Patient, and Pasolini uses this to create added tension in these works. whose memory of the English Patient is vivid. This is a great and very relevant work that must be experienced!
